      Main Definition

1. hand |n| the end part of the arm beyond the wrist, including the palm, fingers, and thumb. 

     Parts of the Hand

1. heel |n| the part of the palm of the hand next to the wrist. 
2. fist |n| a person's hand when the fingers are bent in towards the palm and held there tightly.
3. palm |n| the inner surface of the hand between the wrist and fingers.
4. knuckle |n| a part of a finger at a joint where the bone is near the surface.

      Fingers

1. finger / digit |n| any of the terminal members of the hand (sometimes excepting the thumb).

3. thumb / digit |n| the short, thick first digit of the hand, set lower and apart from the other four and opposable to them.
