1. temperature |adj| a measure of the warmth or coldness of an object or substance with reference to some standard value. The temperature of two systems is the same when the systems are in thermal equilibrium.

      Systems of Temperature Measuring

1. There are two main systems used for measuring temperature: °F = degrees Fahrenheit (only used in United States) and °C = degrees Celsius (used in the rest of the world)
2. celsius / centigrade |n| of or using a scale of temperature in which water freezes at 0° and boils at 100.

     Main Types of Temperature

1. hot |adj| used of physical heat; having a high or higher than desirable temperature or giving off heat or feeling or causing a sensation of heat or burning.
2. "A hot August day." 
3. warm |adj| a little hot, especially in a way that seems pleasant.
4. "A warm summer's evening."
5. cool |adj| neither warm not very cold; giving relief from heat.

7. chilly / parky (informal) |adj| appreciably or disagreeably cold.
